(Somewhat) Candid Camera
There is a certain level of self awareness that suddenly becomes glaringly apparent the second a camera is pointed in your direction. Someone is taking a photo of you simply walking, an action we do how many times a day? But suddenly a camera is lifted to the eye and walking becomes the most impossible task and many ask, "How do I look natural while doing a task I do naturally everyday!" I have always found beauty in candidacy, a certain candor attached. Honesty. Truth. What have you. For that has always been something that has held much charisma for me, truth. Perhaps because so many people fear it. And for me, film has always offered a whole other level of truth, of feeling. Perhaps why I love film as much as I do, therefore I tend to prefer to shoot my "personal" life on film. Not all I shall share for that would hardly seem appropriate, and a girl has got to hold some sort of mystery in her life. So here are some frames as to where I try and catch the people that occupy this life with me before they suddenly become self aware and change their more natural stance to become what they think I want them to be. But then there are also some film frames from shoots within the mix, see if you can decipher the difference...
And as always, here are frames from the past few moments of 2017. Late. As per usual. Gotta love that delayed gratification time.
Oops, I am in Oregon. Again.
